Witching hour1/28/2024 ![]() If your baby is over 22 weeks, sign up for Heather’s online “Napping Know-How” class to learn how to improve your child’s daytime sleep, making those witching hour screaming fits disappear forever.Ībove all, keep in mind that this won’t last forever. If your baby is younger than 22 weeks, sign up for a one-on-one Newborn Session and get professional help on creating good sleep shaping strategies. Helping your child avoid getting to that stage is crucial in helping this season pass as quickly as possible. This means their little baby brains were overtired and they just. Almost all of them had one thing in common: They were bad nappers. Heather, as a Certified Gentle Sleep Coach, has seen a lot of witching hour babies. Or, you can sign up for Heather’s Soothing Webinar and listen to every soothing technique under the sun! (The more you have, the more likely you’ll find one that works!) The Most Common Reason for Here’s a list of 40 effective soothing strategies you can try with your fussy baby. Putting baby in a baby swing (on the fastest setting!).Swaddling and bouncing on an exercise ball. Some of the most effective calming strategies when your baby is fussy in the evening include: This is why it’s important to plan ahead and be armed with a list of soothing strategies. You’ll likely resort to the same old soothing strategies you always use, and sometimes, this can be enough.īut other times, everything you try fails. ![]() When you’re in the midst of a crying jag, it can be hard to think straight. You obviously need to be a bit more careful with formula, but if you’re concerned, try offering a pacifier or even your pinky. I know many parents hesitate to ‘comfort feed’ their little one for fear that they’ll start a bad habit or overfeed their baby.īut in my opinion, comfort feeding is extremely natural, and if it works, do it! If you’re breastfeeding and are sure your little one isn’t actually hungry, continue to offer the same breast. If the weather’s nice, plan to grab a coffee, strap your baby in carrier, and take a nice long walk. If your baby does better out in public, plan to be out most evenings. If you can hear a movie above the wailing, plan to have it on in the background (subtitles are your friend!). Assume that your baby will fuss, scream or cry until 2am, and plan for it. One of the best ways I’ve found for getting through the evenings is to plan for the worst. Whatever the reason, getting through those hours at night can be rough. We still don’t have a solid understanding of why this is, however two of the more likely culprits may be overstimulation from the activities of the day, or the need – but also the inability – to fall asleep (or stay asleep). It’s common, particularly during the newborn stage, for babies to become fussy and even inconsolable after around 5pm. Hope for the best, but plan for the worst. And that’s why it’s so important to figure out ways to cope with your fussy, discontent and likely overtired baby – before you lose your mind.Īfter having had two fussy babies (one of whom was high need), and after having talked with hundreds (thousands?) of parents of fussy babies, I’ve learned a few tricks to cope with evening fussiness. ![]() The bad news is that they may last for a while. The good news is that fussy evenings don’t last forever. There is likely much wailing and gnashing of teeth (gums), and while you’ve tried everything you can think of to calm him, nothing seems to work for more than a minute or two. If you’ve managed to escape this joy, here’s a brief description: It’s the period between about 5pm and midnight where you begin to question why FOR THE LOVE OF GOD your baby won’t stop fussing and just go to sleep already. If you’ve had a baby for…I don’t know…more than about 3 hours, you have very likely experienced the ‘witching hour’.

Usps arriving late1/28/2024 ![]() Ebay does not guarantee much on its website other than they will look into it. It seems that you would simply file with ebay and they would let you know how they will handle. Oops sorry I misunderstood and didn't read your OP regarding Ebay after the other posts regarding shipping. If I don't receive the package by Friday and the seller makes a claim with USPS, how will that affect me? Some listing on eBay offer "guaranteed delivery." I have purchased items on eBay shipped in first class envelopes with no tracking with "guaranteed delivery." Otherwise, the date is just an arbitrary one. I assume you mean "Priority Mail Express" as that is the only shipping category that I know of with a "money back guarantee". If eBay does not find in my favor and I never receive the item, I am out what I paid for the item.ĮBay is covering the costs, not the sellers directly, to my understanding (only in a guaranteed delivery situation). If I never get my item, and eBay finds in my favor, the seller has to refund because of the postal service's incomplete delivery, which is unfortunate for the seller. Trying to look at it from a unbiased perspective, it seems like a lose-lose situation for both. If I open up a case in the resolution center for item not received, will eBay find in my favor on an item that shows "In Transit-Arriving Late?" ![]() I don't want to inform eBay about the Guaranteed Delivery date being missed because the item hasn't arrived yet and a $5 eBay voucher is way less than what I paid for the item. On items that had free shipping, I have chosen the $5 eBay voucher option for the item arriving past the delivery date. I have had items delivered to me past the Guaranteed Delivery date, but the tracking is always detailed every step of the way. I received a credit for the full value of the item, both times. Open a claim on eBay and they will process. Good luck collecting on the "Guaranteed Delivery"Īctually, it is very easy. What is the future likelihood that I will receive the item? According to the USPS tracking, it states "In Transit-Arriving Late" and the last scan was at a regional original facility in a major city about 50 miles from the seller's location. I purchased an item on eBay mailed by First Class Package that had a "Guaranteed Delivery" date of yesterday that has not arrived yet.

Tier 6 rhythm doctor s1/28/2024 ![]() Play the story solo or grab a friend for drop-in drop-out local multiplayer throughout the whole campaign!.A large cast of doctors and patients feature in an overarching, character-centric storyline.Every level introduces a different concept of rhythm theory in an accessible way.20+ handmade levels, each with their own story.Rhythm Doctor is designed to make you learn music and rhythm theory without even realising it! But beware - every patient has unique illnesses based on complex music theory: polyrhythms, hemiolas, irregular time signatures.if you don't know what they mean, don't worry. Slam your spacebar in perfect time on the 7th beat, and they might just come out okay. ![]() Rhythm Doctor is a rhythm game in a world where defibrillating patients' hearts in sync with their heartbeats has healing properties. We expect that a two-way dialogue with our community will continue to be instrumental in providing the best challenge, tutorializing the game in an approachable way, and pushing the boundaries of our editing tools.” Because of the nature of rhythm games, precision in the tweaking of balance and feel is always necessary to create the most fair and rewarding challenge. In the past, our community's interest in the addition of certain features or tools has been a guide in prioritizing our work. The community has had a large role in the design of our Level Editor tools up to this point, and we look forward to continuing to discuss the tools with them and taking feedback on how they can be improved. We discuss mechanics, game balance, game feel, suggestions, and more with our players on a regular basis. “Leading up to our release onto Steam, we have already had a strong involvement with our community. How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process? This answer may be subject to change over the course of the Early Access period.” “If we feel that the game's content, tools, and length are expanded significantly by the launch of the full version, the price may be increased slightly to reflect the scope of the final game. Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access? Although our Level Editor tools do not have an in-game tutorial, our community has shared guides with fellow players on how to set-up their own levels and use various features.” ![]() Players can upload their levels to our Steam Workshop, and a Custom Level Select menu allows them to view and play any user-generated levels they have downloaded. It contains a Level Editor tool with a variety of features, allowing players to create levels with the same quality and capabilities as the levels we have made. “The current Early Access version of Rhythm Doctor contains the first four Acts of Story Mode and several bonus levels, connected by narrative scenes. What is the current state of the Early Access version? The full version will also include an in-game tutorial for our Level Editor tools, and the Level Editor and Custom Level Select will be considered feature-complete.” It will include various additional levels, boss levels, interactions, and secrets scattered throughout the game areas, and will include all of our planned game mechanics. The full version of the game will contain the entire story. The Early Access version of the game contains the first four Acts of the story, but the story is currently incomplete. “Rhythm Doctor's Story Mode is divided into Acts. How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version? It may take longer based on feedback we receive, changes we feel are necessary for our Level Editor tools, and the game mechanics and animations that are involved in creating the concluding chapters of the story.” “We estimate that Rhythm Doctor will stay in Early Access for more than a year, and the development timeline may be subject to change. We'd also like to receive feedback from the community on the game's difficulty and tutorialization of gameplay mechanics, to ensure that players of all skill levels can pick up Rhythm Doctor and enjoy everything it has to offer.”Īpproximately how long will this game be in Early Access? We have included an array of Level Editor tools, but we know that there may be additions and changes we could implement in the future to help players express their ideas visually and mechanically. Although a large portion of the Story Mode is currently included, the story is unfinished and additional levels and scenes will be added in the future. “Rhythm Doctor is intended to tell a full, overarching story of characters through the lens of a rhythm game, as well as provide players with the tools necessary to establish a community of user-generated content.

Warcraft iii cinematics black screen1/28/2024 ![]() In reality, the company has created what looks like a mobile game. This is all particularly jarring, considering Warcraft III: Reforged is a 2020 release by Blizzard Entertainment, one of the most profitable studios in the world. ![]() However, a high number of the cinematics have not been remastered, and Blizzard has even removed a previously revealed cutscene that we know was remastered. Buildings look quite good, cities are convincingly reimagined in appealing ways and character models are consistently high quality. This isn't always the case, as certain textures do have a higher-quality look than others. If you zoom in on certain portions of the map, you'll notice the blurriness of the patterns projected onto assets. Many models have an obnoxious pixelation surrounding them, making the game look like it's running on an even lower resolution. Texture quality is mixed, and scenes feel insufficiently detailed. On the highest graphics settings, it feels like the opposite. Divinity: Original Sin’s Kickstarter campaign didn’t even break a million dollars, while Blizzard Entertainment, a company that makes a yearly revenue of $7.16 billion dollars, couldn’t manage making Warcraft III look half-decent. (Image credit: Blizzard Entertainment / Larian Studios)ĭivinity: Original Sin, a game partially funded through Kickstarter and released in 2014 by Larian Studios, looks so much better than Warcraft III: Reforged. ![]() On the left is Divinity: Original Sin (2014) and on the right is Warcraft III: Reforged (2020). Some of the best-looking moments of Warcraft III: Reforged are when a shot is completely devoid of grass, and even then, things don't look great. Often times, the Classic graphics look better than its remaster, which is frequently reflected in the lifeless terrain. It's too bright and it looks inorganic, reminiscent of cheap felt plastered haphazardly into the scenery. While Warcraft III is an undeniably joyous experience, Reforged is visually disappointing, with the primary offender being its grass textures. It's hard to describe how satisfying it is watching a dozen undead get shot down within seconds. The strategy I frequently employ is to build dozens of guard towers around every entrance of my garrison. However, doing these side quests can be a bit distracting when enemies try to invade my base while I'm out on a quest. This will stay in your inventory throughout the entire campaign, which allows for a great sense of pacing. Once you free her son, you're rewarded with a piece of equipment that boosts your stats. This means exploring, doing side quests and farming actually feel worthwhile.įor example, early in the Scourge of Lordaeron campaign, you can take Arthas and go down an alternate path to find a woman who claims her son has been kidnapped by bandits. ![]() The beauty of Warcraft III is that all the progress you've made with your hero stays consistent within your campaign. I've always been the type of player to go crazy building my base, upgrading the hell out of everything, but I'd always be disappointed when the match ended, and I'd have to start all over. With this progression, the game successfully implements many RPG elements, such as hero skill trees and an equipment system.

Games may also be terminated by resignation. When a game concludes, the winner is determined by counting each player's surrounded territory along with captured stones and komi (points added to the score of the player with the white stones as compensation for playing second). The game proceeds until neither player wishes to make another move. ![]() Once placed on the board, stones may not be moved, but stones are removed from the board if the stone (or group of stones) is surrounded by opposing stones on all orthogonally adjacent points, in which case the stone or group is captured. The players take turns placing the stones on the vacant intersections ( points) on a board. One player uses the white stones and the other black. A 2016 survey by the International Go Federation's 75 member nations found that there are over 46 million people worldwide who know how to play Go and over 20 million current players, the majority of whom live in East Asia. Curved space star1/27/2024 Scientists have also managed to observe lensing examples where, because the light traveling around the lens takes different paths of different lengths, different images arrive at different times, as in the case of one particularly interesting supernova. In cases like Einstein's cross, the different images of the gravitationally lensed object appear simultaneously, but that isn't always the case. Because the two objects align so precisely, four images of the quasar appear around the galaxy because the intense gravity of the galaxy bends the light coming from the quasar. The quasar is seen as it was about 11 billion years ago the galaxy that it sits behind is about 10 times closer to Earth. The Einstein Cross, a quasar in the Pegasus constellation, according to the European Space Agency (opens in new tab) (ESA), and is an excellent example of gravitational lensing. Astronomers routinely use this method to study stars and galaxies behind massive objects. Light bends around a massive object, such as a black hole, causing it to act as a lens for the things that lie behind it. In the decades since Einstein published his theories, scientists have observed countless of phenomena matching the predictions of relativity. If you then attempt to roll a marble around the edge of the trampoline, the marble would spiral inward toward the body, pulled in much the same way that the gravity of a planet pulls at rocks in space. The object would press down into the fabric, causing it to dimple. Imagine setting a large object in the center of a trampoline. Related: What would happen if the speed of light was much lower?Īs he worked out the equations for his general theory of relativity, Einstein realized that massive objects caused a distortion in space-time. And events that occur at the same time for one observer could occur at different times for another. ![]() Yet Newton's laws assume that gravity is an innate force of an object that can act over a distance.Īlbert Einstein, in his theory of special relativity, determined that the laws of physics are the same for all non-accelerating observers, and he showed that the speed of light within a vacuum is the same no matter the speed at which an observer travels, according to Wired (opens in new tab).Īs a result, he found that space and time were interwoven into a single continuum known as space-time. ![]() But the more massive body barely feels the tug from you, while with your much smaller mass you find yourself firmly rooted thanks to that same force. Even as the center of the Earth is pulling you toward it (keeping you firmly lodged on the ground), your center of mass is pulling back at the Earth. The gravitational force tugging between two bodies depends on how massive each one is and how far apart the two lie, according to NASA (opens in new tab). |
